Ryder Goatley

Portraits are an enjoyable process all the way through. From the concept, if there is one, to the meeting, and all the way through the shoot to the post production. Digital photography and computer programs, like Adobe Photoshop, allow the artist to play and experiment with their work in a far more flexible environment than was possible before digital photography really took off. Its this free flowing workspace that allows for plenty of trial and error, the end result, at least in theory, should be the best possible result, having had the freedom to test and view as many different ideas as they want.

David Goatley

A London street scene. Nighttime in the square. This is an original oil on canvas piece by renowned portrait painter David Goatley. Painted from a photograph he took while visiting England.

Another of David Goatleys oil paintings. An early morning scene, a women sits in her robe drinking tea, the finest point of the picture, is the emotion the pose and paint create, and that is the truest testament to the skills of the artist.

Oil paintings are David Goatleys specialty, he has worked with the medium for over twenty years, cementing a reputation as one of Canada's leading portait artists. This painting, of a dancer sitting in elegant repose, is a perfect example of his mastery of brush strokes, composition, and color.

Another of David Goatley's works. He paints pictures with a passion, but also for a living. Which he makes primarily from portrait commissions, and the sale of limited edition prints.
